As easy as this
- In NodalDesk you press New help session and choose whether you only want to see their screen or also control it.
- You give them the code you see: through WhatsApp with one tap, or reading it out over the phone.
- They install NodalDesk, press Someone will help me and type the code. And they decide whether to let you in.
From then on you see their screen and, if they allow it, you move their mouse and type on their keyboard as if you were sitting there.
Always with their permission
Nobody gets in unless they say yes. You both see the same number on screen, so you know you are really talking to each other, and they choose: Let them control, View only or No. While you help, they have a bar at hand to take control back or end it whenever they want. When it ends, your access is removed from their computer.
The code expires after 10 minutes and works only once. And over the internet, everything you see and do travels end-to-end encrypted.
Help everyone who needs it
All you need is your NodalDesk account, the free one too, and the computers you help do not count towards your plan. It works on Windows and Linux.
Tips to make it smooth
- View only, or control too? Choose «View only» if you will guide them over the phone while they do the clicking, and «View and control» if you would rather do it yourself.
- Send the code through WhatsApp. With «Send via WhatsApp…» they get a message with the link to download NodalDesk and the code, all together.
- Did they take control back? Ask for it again from the viewer and the question pops up for them, so they can decide once more.
- When you are done, they press «End» on their bar and your access is removed from their computer.
